GOLD NUGGET REPLICATION

Starting my career at the Melbourne Museum back in the 1980's I had the fortunate experience of replicating some significant gold nugget finds detected in the Vic 'Golden Triangle'. These were made to continue the records of Australias golden history as was done in the first gold rushes. Today I have enhanced the methods and materials and would like to offer my (very discreet and confidential)service to make a replica of your discoveries. It makes a great display and momento of your find.
We have a selection of replicas available for purchase. There is also a series of scale models showcasing Australias famous nugget . These are at 1:10th scale and are scanned from the original model. ORIGINAL GOLD NUGGET

MOULD MAKING
  • I will make a mould using the highest grade silicone to capture all of the details of your nugget. The silicone will release from the original with no damage to the gold at all.
  • This process will take 2 hours. A discussion with you to agree on the moulding location is priority. I will make detailed images for reference and you can take the nugget away.
Detailed casting
  • The replica will be cast with some weight and a coating of a gold powder set into the plastic surface layer, then I detail all the patina and host inclusions or matrix. the stuff that gives it a unique natural apearance.
  • Please do not soak in acids before we mould it. this can cause fine weak points in the gold.
