ORIGINAL MEASUREMENTS
Detailed sketches, measurements and images are made of an original specimen, this can be through direct measures under microscope or 3d scanning, these are the important 1st stages to a scientificaly correct model.
SCULPTING
A wax model is sculpted over a support armiture, this is moulded and then a plastic cast is made from that mould. The moulding process requires the individual sections to be disarticulated and re-articulated when the casts are made.
The cast sections are glued and supporting wires attached. We then refer to the detailed imaging and paint the high level of detail onto the model.
COMPLETED MODEL
The model requires a specific base or habitat. this was for a traveling display so a purpose built stillage is fabricated
